NoCo Manufacturing Partnership Members,
Welcome to the September e-newsletter. The partnership continues to work diligently to support manufacturing across the region. We are in full swing organizing student tours of shop floors for the fall semester as well providing impactful programming in the areas of workforce, workforce culture, and technology/innovation. Please consult this newsletter for information on these programs as well as grant opportunities and the BizWest Bravo! Entrepreneur Regional Spirit Award.

NOCO Manufacturing Partnership Receives the Bravo! Regional Spirit Award
BizWest had their 2017 Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards, which celebrates excellence in Northern Colorado, on August 30th. The Partnership has been awarded the Regional Spirit Award. Winners of the Regional Spirit Award demonstrate commitment to the growth and well-being of the region through good corporate citizenship and promotion of regional ties. All awards determined by the Award Selection Committee must have at least one vote from each county. Congratulations and thank you to the membership for all your contributions to making this award possible. Article HERE
Grant Opportunity – Recover Colorado Workforce Training
Grant Deadline December 2017 and Training to be
Completed by December 2018
The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is partnering with Aims Community College to offer funding to businesses and nonprofits within Weld County. The Recover Colorado Workforce Training Program is designed to help communities, businesses, and ultimately individuals build resiliency by providing customized workforce training programs. Applications need to be submitted by December 2017 and trainings needs to be completed by December 2018. The maximum grant award is $75,000, and each company can receive up to three awards. Eaton High School Career Fair – Looking for Manufacturers to Participate
Jim Corbett is the new STEM teacher at Eaton High School and is looking for manufacturers to participate in their Career Fair September 20th. If you are interested please contact Jim Corbett at jcorbett@eaton.k12.co.us.
Denver Maker Faire October 13-15th – Volunteer Opportunities
Calling all fans of invention, creation, DIY and imagination!! Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Denver Maker Faire. The Faire will be held at the Denver Mart on October 14th and 15th. Volunteers with help with operational tasks, Maker happiness and support, interactive exhibits and more! Click HERE to sign up.
Enterprise Zone Tax Credits
The Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) Program promotes a business-friendly environment in economically distressed areas by offering state income tax credits to businesses who choose to locate/develop in these zones. Click HERE for more details.

ISO Certification with Free and Discounted Services

Pat Toth is flying in to talk to us about how t echnology has evolved and empowered manufacturers in a variety of ways, and companies have become increasingly reliant on computer systems and IT. Because of this, cybersecurity has emerged as a critical topic in the industry.

Pat is a Computer Scientist in the Programs and Partnerships Division at the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Pat serves as the NIST MEP Cybersecurity Program Manager with responsibility for developing and disseminating guidance and tools for MEP Centers to use to assist U.S. manufacturers in reducing their risks associated with cybersecurity .
