NoCO Manufacturing Partnership Announces Donations from Local Manufacturers and Public Partner to Celebrate 5 Year Anniversary and Future Programing

Loveland, Colorado— Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership (NoCo) has announced receiving donations from the City of Greeley, The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO)/BI Incorporated, Research Electro-Optics, Inc., Vergent Products, HIRSH Precision Products, Inc., Aqua Hot and EKS&H LLLP in the 3rd quarter of the 2018.

These organizations joined NoCo in celebrating their 5-Year Anniversary Celebration on July 12th 2018 held at EWI in Loveland. The donations help support the organization’s mission to make American manufacturing great by driving a passionate, collaborative partnership so that Northern Colorado Manufacturing and our communities thrive.

Over the past 5 years the partnership has grown its membership and programs to offer networking, education and workforce opportunities to over 230 manufacturer companies and over 1000 members including manufacturers and supply chain, public partners, educators and supporting services.

The Rocks! Workforce Committee has hosted 1,615 students to date that have provided facility tours with the help of over 100 manufacturer companies. In 2017, the Networks Committee coordinated 5 manufacturing facility site tours and with over 170 in attendance. The lunch and learn program continues to grow with monthly programs boasting over 30 attendees each month and the B2B Networking events and Bi-Annual Meeting engages over 100 attendees.

The NoCo website, www.nocomfg.com, was recently redesigned by media partner Old Town Media (OTM), giving users a much easier and enjoyable online experience.

These programs and tools have been made possible through state and local grants, as well as industry donations that have served to fund the Partnership’s expanding programs and initiatives.

“As NoCo looks ahead to future goals and growth, funding is key. With NoCo being a volunteer lead organization, we are encouraged by the support from the community and their engagement over the last 5 years. The sector partnership shines when industry, workforce and public partners come together to elevate and push forward initiatives that build a stronger economy, without funding none of our programs are possible” says Heidi Hostetter, NoCo Chair.

Chris Helwick of the City of Greeley said, “Greeley is excited to add it’s financial support to the Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership — one of the most successful sector partnerships in the state. For the past five years, we have seen this organization grow in size and influence, expand its workforce development programming to serve students and schools districts across the entire region, and take proactive steps in shifting the reputation of the manufacturing industry as a whole. This consistent progress says a great deal. It shows that we all have a determined and capable champion for manufacturing in northern Colorado, and, like many other municipalities, Greeley looks forward to continuing to support this organization in every way we can.”

Kyle Kingrey of GEO/BI said, “BI Incorporated is pleased to support our partnership goals with the NOCO Manufacturing Rocks! Program. For more than 30 years, BI has provided innovative technology and services to thousands of community corrections agencies and millions of individuals in communities across the United States. Engaging with local youth through the Manufacturing Rocks! Program is particularly satisfying and provides them with hands-on exposure to our culture and technology. BI is proud to be a Boulder-based company that positively impacts the lives of more than 175,000 people every day.”

About Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership

The NoCo Manufacturing Partnership was formed in 2013 as a result of Governor Hickenlooper’s state Economic Development plan called the Colorado Blue Print. The Blue Print identified 11 key sectors of the economy in Colorado by region. Northern Colorado’s two main sectors identified were Health and Wellness and Advanced Manufacturing. Regions within the state were encouraged to form sector partnerships to provide more localized grass roots support to augment state efforts in each sector. These would be industry specific, led by business, in partnership with economic development, education and workforce development. A collaboration arose as part of the Blue Print process involving people from each of these affiliations and the NoCo Manufacturing Partnership was born. It continues to be an all-volunteer, business led, FREE membership organization designed to support Northern Colorado manufacturers. It is served by a Board of Directors, representing each affiliation from private business to local government, as well as two active committees: Networking and Manufacturing Talent/Rocks!
