Lunch & Learn – Best Practices for Using Internal SME’s as Trainers
It takes more than being a SME (subject matter expert) to be a great trainer. Having information down cold and enjoying the spotlight can be important attributes of a good trainer, but that’s just the beginning. Trainers with “the edge” are continuously reading the room, engaging participants, managing time, and checking for knowledge transfer.
After this session participants will be able to identify people who would make the best trainers (hint: it’s not always who you think it is!). They will be prepared to support subject matter experts and create a credible training program.
We will cover:
Attributes of a great trainer
Criteria to consider when selecting trainers
How to avoid the costs of a faulty training program
